Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is moving forward the campaign "Do Good Deeds with the Heart, Reduce Receiving, Reduce Giving Reduce Using Plastic Bags," The D-Day is 1 January 2020 to stop receiving, giving, and using single-use plastic bags.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment by the Regional Environment Office 6 (Nonthaburi) and Nonthaburi Provincial Office of Natural Resources and Environment organized an activity "Do Good Deeds with the Heart, Reduce Receiving, Reduce Giving Reduce Using Plastic Bags" to prepare people to adjust their behavior to use cloth bags or other environmentally friendly alternative materials.

Today (27 November 2019), Ms. Asdaporn Krairapanond, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment was a chair to the opening ceremony of activities together with Deputy Governor of Nonthaburi Province, executive officers of Tesco Lotus, Regional Environment Office 6 (Nonthaburi), Nonthaburi Provincial Office of Natural Resources and Environment, and associate network. The team led for a walking campaign to distribute cloth bags and persuaded the public to do good with their hearts, reduce receiving, giving, and using plastic bags at the payment points called "green lanes." These special payment lanes are for the customers who do not accept single-use plastics bags on the 2nd floor of the Department Store. The Deputy Permanent Secretary of MNRE and others also visited a plastic recycling station and the area showed for driving food waste reduction on the 1st floor at Tesco Lotus Department Store (Bang Kruai – Sainoi Branch) Bang Bua Thong District, Nonthaburi Province.

Moreover, the event granted certificates to Tesco Lotus Department Store (Bang Kruai – Sainoi Branch) and local government organizations participating in the activities and gave signs to publicize activities "Do Good Deeds with the Heart, Reduce Receiving, Reduce Giving Reduce Using Plastic Bags" to the Natural Resources and Environment Protection Volunteer Network (NEV-Net) as well as showed exhibition to educate public to understand how to reduce using single-use plastics in their daily life. Besides, there was a survey on the awareness of the suspension of plastic bags on the 1st January 2020 and the study of customer behavior change to prepare cloth bags for shopping by using electronic surveys with mobile phones and tablets.
