ONREC Organizes Workshop to Drive International Collaborative Mission and Enhance Capacity of Diplomatic Protocols Relating to International Social Manners

On September 19, 2017, the Office of Natural Resources and Environment Collaboration (ONREC) under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Conservation organized an event titled "Driving International Collaborative Mission and Enhancing Capacity of Diplomatic Protocols Relating to International Social Manners Workshop."

In this event, it was an honor to have Mr. Wijarn Simachaya, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in the workshop as the Chairman who also delivered a speech about the policies of international collaboration relating to natural resources and environment at Rama Gardens Hotel, Bangkok.

This workshop was started with the aim of acknowledging the MNRE's staff about working on the international collaborative mission operated by the MNRE and integrating how to suitably deliver a speech that would be useful for negotiation, protection and maintain the best benefit of Thailand in global forums including participating in an international meeting based on particular obligations and conventions to which Thailand has adhered.

It was an honor that representatives from many organizations joined the event. For instance, The Deputy Director-General of  the Department of International Organizations under the  Ministry of Foreign Affairs delivered a speech about joining international meeting and negotiation events; a representative from the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Board delivered a speech about developing the country under the 20-year national strategy and the 12th national economic and social development plan; a representative from Thailand Development Research Institute Foundation delivered a speech about trading and environment in the view of economists; and a representative from National Institute of Development Administration delivered a speech about managing reactions to be considered when joining international environment negotiation events detailing about guidelines on preparation of the essence and managing reactions relating to international natural resources and environment negotiation events.

In addition, a former Ambassador of Thailand shared his knowledge of diplomatic protocols and etiquette, international manners, and giving a dinner of welcome and a representative from the Royal Thai Police shared his knowledge about providing advanced security. Overall, these activities aimed at enhancing the capacity of the MNRE's staff to be capable of using appropriate practices according to the diplomatic protocols in order to promote a good image of Thailand in international forums. This event consisted of approximately 100 participants.
