“Warawut” urges to prosecution to the resorts that encroach on Mae Rim National Reserved Forest (Mon Jam and nearby areas)

Today (10 April 2020) at 18.00, H.E. Mr. Warawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, together with Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Deputy Permanent Secretary of MNRE, Chief inspector-general MNRE, Director General of Department of Forestry, Director General of Department of National Park, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation, and related exclusives have visiting in the area to listen to the operation’s results of the working group of monitoring and solving the problem of encroach on Mae Rim National Reserved Forest (Mon Jam and nearby areas), at Pongyeang Subdistrict and Mae Ram Subdistrict, Mar Rim District, Chiang Mai Province.

On this occasion, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment went to check the prosecution area at “Rai Nay,” which the Natural Resources Management Office 1 (Chiang Mai) has legal proceeding. An entrepreneur purchased this area from the original owner to build a resort. The Minister of Natural Resources and Environment ordered to do the prosecution to all resorts that have invaded forest areas to solve problems in the Mon Jam completely. With the finishing cases of trial, the constructions that missed the objective of the Royal Projects will be demolished. Additionally, MNRE will consider developing those areas to be useful and returning green spaces for Mon Jam and natural resources and the environment in the future.
