Today (16 April 2563) at 11.00, Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, together with the exclusive team of MNRE, investigates the progress and operation of solving the problem of smog and forest fire through the video conference meeting, at the Monitoring and Disaster Prevention Center (forest fire and haze) at 17th floor, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Building. The Permanent Secretary urges all organizations to expedite prosecution of offenders unconditionally to be as an example to the public to aware and not commit an offense. Regarding the improved situations consistently, MNRE discusses the lessons learned in the root cause of the problem to prepare an action plan to prevent and deal with a situation that may repeatedly happen in the future as well as to develop equipment used to extinguish fires more efficiently. However, staff are still monitoring continually to avoid a fire to return and prepare a rehabilitation plan for the northern forests. MNRE will open for agencies from all sectors to participate in forest restoration and sustainable forest fire prevention together.
