Authority and Function of the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment

According to the Ministerial Regulation of dividing government offices, the Office of the Permanent Secretary, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment 2017, the Office of the Permanent Secretary under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE) has missions regarding governance center for strategic development, converting the Ministry's policies into action plans, resource allocation, and general administration of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

To achieve goals and missions of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment by having the following functions and authorities:

1. Proposing ideas and suggestions regarding the formulation of policies, goals, and achievements of the Ministry's tasks
2. Developing strategies regarding administration and converting policies into action plans of the MNRE
3. Allocating and managing resources of the Ministry in order to be economical, worthwhile, and beneficial
4. Coordinating operation including supervise, expedite, monitor, and assess operational performance of civil services and proceed petitions of organizations under the MNRE
5. Establishing policies and guidelines for international cooperation and organization regarding natural resources and environmental management
6. Developing information technology system, communication, information system for administrative works and services for the offices under the MNRE
7. Establishing spatial strategies, inspect, monitor, and analyze environmental samples as well as transfer knowledge of technology and environmental management and provide information and advice on environmental management
8. Proceeding, coordinating, and supporting operations of natural resources and environment management at the local level
9. Proceeding with the solution of state's lands encroachments
10. Performing duties regarding aviation and communication to support the operation of natural resources and environment
11. Giving advice, suggestions, diagnose legal issues, and the development and improvement of legal regarding natural resources and environment, as well as legal works,  contracts, and any case under the duties and authorities of the Office of the Permanent Secretary and the MNRE
12. Performing any other works as prescribed by law to be the duties and authorities of the Office of the Permanent Secretary or as assigned by the Minister or Cabinet
