Today (October 17th, 2022) at 9:00 a.m. Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, had a discussion with  Mr. Fabrizio Zarcone, the Manager of the World Bank in Thailand regarding a delegation from the World Bank about the cooperation project on natural resources and environment at the meeting room on the 20th floor of the ministry building.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs mentioned that Thailand focuses greatly on the actions on climate change because it is a country at high risk of being affected by climate change. Thailand has accelerated actions in all sectors, such as reaching an agreement with the Swiss Confederation to operate under Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement about Carbon Credit Transfers Launch of Carbon Credit Trading Platform, changing energy consumption in the transport sector, green fund concept, carbon storage technology development, cement industry, including the use of the BCG Model in the country's post-COVID-19 rehabilitation that is linked to climate change operations through activities such as the reduction of plastic use and recycling, and converting waste to energy. He has acknowledged that raising public awareness is important to drive success which comes in both financially and technically management of marine waste, using a circular economy in waste management, reducing Carbon Emissions and Storage in the Forest Sector (REDD+) by which Fabricio Sarcone has shown its readiness to support it through key projects with Thailand, such as Bio-Circular-Green Economy for Thailand, Innovative Blue Financing for Integrated Seascape Management, as well as the preparation of the Country Partnership Framework (CPF), which are to be discussed with the relevant agencies further.
