On this day (21st October 2022) at 10.00,Mr. Varawut Silpaarcha, the Minister of Natural Resource and Environment, was the speaker on the National Annual Tree Care Day 2022, which is on every 21st October and the birthday of Princess Srinagarindra. The top managers, public service officers, employees and volunteers treated the trees at the Green Area Management Center (Srinakorn Khuaenkhan Park) in Bang Kachao Sub-District, Phra Pradaeng District, Samut Prakan Province in order to show the gratitude to her and to realize her wishes to provide public benefits for sustainably restoring the balance of natural resources.
Mr. Varawut said that the tree care activity on this day will be a step to restore the natural resources of Thailand in order to increase the number of green areas and trees with tree rings as well as to promote Thailand to have carbon neutrality by 2050 as announced by the prime minister in the COP26 conference. The importance of tree care is increasing since it directly reduces the effects from natural disasters including floods, drought and surges that are caused by humans. Therefore, the tree care on this day reserved the nature, restored the balance and protect the resources of Thailand for future generations.
This activity consisted of cutting branches, modifying trees, preventing diseases and pests as well as using organic fertilizers. There was an aborist(s) giving the knowledge for nourishing the trees according to the academic principles of Princess Srinagarindra, who planted three trees (i.e., a Portia tree, a golden shower tree and a resin tree) as well as nourishing the trees at the Green Area Management Center (Srinakorn Khuaenkhan Park).
