On this day (7th December 2022) at 01.30 p.m., Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat, the Permanent Secretary for Natural Resources and Environment, was the chairperson of the conference of the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) 1/2565 and the sub-committees of responsible organizations including the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, which was the secretary, and the Marine Department at the auditorium on the 17^th Floor of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment.

At the conference, the conditions of Thailand in MEPC 79 from 12^th to 16^th December 2022 at the head quarter of IMO in London, the United Kingdoms. The main agendas were air pollution preventions, ships’ energy efficiencies, ships’ green house gas emissions, following up and solving ships’ plastic wastes in the sea, and other agendas. The orders of the working group on substances were considered and drafted in order t o prepare Thailand. MEPC was for ensuring that substance management and Thailand’s preparation are orderly, efficient and consistent with the objectives and goals.

Moreover, the components and duties were acknowledged at the conference according to the order No. 1/2562 of the National Policy and Plan Committee for Marine and Coastal Resources Management Strategy and Planning Division about appointing the marine environment protection sub-committees. The results of MEPC 78 were also concluded.
