MNRE Discussed with the Minister of Natural Resources of Japan to Aim at Developing the Continuous Cooperation and Expanding to Exchanging New Technologies
On this day (6th January 2023) at 04.00 p.m. (the local time) in Tokyo in Japan, Mr. varawut Silpa-acha, the Minister for Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE), Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (PSMNRE), Mr. Phirun Saiyasitpanich, the Secretray of the Office Of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning, and Mr. Kiattichai Maitreewong, the Director of Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management (Public) Organizaton met Mr. Ono Hiroshi, the Vice-Minister for Global Environment Affairs of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Thailand, in order to discuss about the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) and the other issues about natural resource and environmental cooperation such as marine debris management cooperation, especially establishing the PM2.5 Monitoring Centre under Thailand - Japan Clean Air Partnership (JTCAP) and exchanging the experiences from electronic waste management since Thailand is dedicated to solving the problems about electronic and plastic wastes.
Mr. varawut told the representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Japan that Thailand focuses on solving the problems about natural resources and environments, particularly climate changes and biological diversity as well as appreciated the Japanese government for provide the representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environments of Thailand the opportunities to join the coastal erosion management training. Thailand, as the coordinator of the relations between ASEAN - Japan, is ready to support the 2nd ASEAN - Japan Ministerial Dialogue on Environmental Cooperation and the ASEAN - Japan Environment Week, which will be held while the 17th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on the Environment in the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
