Today (May 19, 2023) at 8:30 a.m. Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE) is a special speaker on the topic of "National Strategy for Reforming the Country in Resource and Environment and Driving to Achieve Goals in Phase 1" to the trainees in the Environmental Governance Certificate Program for Executives Class 10 (Por. Tor. Sor. 10) It was organized by the Department of Environmental Quality Promotion (DEQP) with ministry administrators and trainees from government agencies, the private sector, academia and the media attending a special lecture at the Aree Samphan Conference Room, the Department of Environmental Quality Promotion (DEQP). The objective is to empower executives to become change leaders and role models on climate and environmental change, as well as to connect networks of cooperation in environmental management by all sectors.
In a special lecture, he mentioned the goals and strategies on natural resources and environment of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment according to the national strategic goals as well as urgently important agendas in the management of the country's natural resources and environment that must be enhanced. It includes increasing Thailand's green area to 55%, managing arable land for communities according to the National Land Policy, managing conserved forests as a food source for wild elephants, managing groundwater, implementing the Air Pollution Act, creating mechanisms for driving transboundary haze pollution and measures to solve housing and land problems in the forest area of Mae Chaem District, Chiang Mai Province. It is to emphasize the driving force of the country's policy of protecting natural resources and the environment. It requires engagement with all sectors aiming at the common goal of enhancing the quality of life of the Thai people.
