"PS of MNRE" joined the BEDO board meeting to accelerate the promotion of businesses responded for biodiversity

Today (31 May 2023) at 13.30 PM, Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (PS of MNRE) as the advisor of the Board of Biodiversity-Based Economy Development Office (BEDO), participated in the Biodiversity-Based Economy Development Office Board Meeting No. 5/2023. The chairman was Dr. Wijarn Simachaya who is the Director of Thailand Environment Institute. The meeting took place at 17th floor, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and via video conference with board of directors and the director of BEDO as the secretary.

PS of MNRE thanked board of directors of BEDO who supported policy recommendations with BEDO directors in order to work with convenience, speed and efficiency in accordance with the expectations of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. He asked everyone in the organization to share knowledge and understanding of biodiversity to public, in order for the public to realize the importance of and participate in the conservation of biodiversity, as well as be ready to provide information to Coordinating Centers on Climate Change and Biodiversity that will be established in all provinces across the country further.

At the meeting, BEDO’s board of directors had considered Business and Biodiversity Check (B&B Check) with the coordination of BEDO and BEDO’s Foundation. In addition, the regulations of the Biodiversity-Based Economy Development Office regarding Income Management B.E. …. had also been considered, including the indicators of the PPP, component 2 of the year 2023, Result Chain, and analysis of the role of public organizations in the Ecosystem. Also, the meeting acknowledged the performance report of the Policy and Planning Sub-Committee, monthly financial performance of March 2023, as well as acknowledged the progress of cooperation with Rajabhat University, results of the seminar "Adjust ideas to change the world, uplift SMEs with bioeconomy" and progress of the implementation of action plan and budget expenditure plan for the fiscal year 2023 (part of request for use of remaining budget) amount of 22 million Baht for 3 plans, 5 activities, 2 projects.
