Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment revealed that “Currently, the world's climate has passed from 'global warming' to a 'world boiling' situation, whether it be higher temperatures, unstable weather, floods, drought, sea level rise or coastal erosion intensifies. It was a huge disaster that greatly affected the lives of people around the world. From the situation that has occurred, Thailand has cooperated with the international community in solving this problem. We pledge that we will strive to reach carbon neutrality by 2050 and will work towards achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2065. We must receive adequate financial, technological, and capacity-building support from developed countries and relevant international organizations in a timely manner. In order to achieve these commitments, we need cooperation from many sectors to jointly reduce greenhouse gas emissions which are linked to geological knowledge, such as reducing Carbon Footprint from mining and downstream industries, hydraulic cement production as well as Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage or CCUS research.
