MNRE opens the meeting “Mekong Regional Water, Energy, and Climate Alliance Forum 2023”
Today (13 September 2023) at 9:00 a.m., Mrs. Chayanan Phakdeejit, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment welcomed and opened the “Mekong Regional Water, Energy, and Climate Alliance Forum 2023” at the Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn, organized by Stockholm Environment Institute (Asia) in collaboration with Chulalongkorn University, under the support of the Commonwealth of Australia Department of Foreign Affairs. It is to share knowledge and perspectives and seek ways to pursue cooperation in the important water, energy and climate areas of the Mekong Basin region. More than 120 development partner researchers and policymakers attended the meeting.
However, Mrs. Chayanan Phakdeejit, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, recognizes the importance of science-based policy and stakeholder participation in dealing with environmental challenges such as, climate change, Biodiversity loss and pollution problems Today's discussion forum is an important platform for exchanging views that are mutually beneficial in formulating policies and strengthening cooperation that will lead to sustainable and concrete development of the Mekong Basin region.
