Pol. Gen. Phatcharavat Inaugurates the Third CAL Forum, Bringing together Leaders from the Government and Private Sectors to Fight against Greenhouse Gases for a Sustainable Future

On February 7, 2024, 17:00 a.m., Pol. Gen. Phatcharavat Wongsuwan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment chaired the opening ceremony of the Climate Action Leaders Forum, Class 3: CAL Forum #3, and thanked all of the 69 corporate leaders from government agencies, the private sector, the education sector, the media, as well as, independent organizations who participated in the leadership forum this time.

The discussion focused on exchanging views, ideas, and experiences in participating in reducing global warming in order to protect and prevail the country and the world for the present and next generation. Furthermore, the opening ceremony was graced by the distinguished presence of Capt. Rachata Phisitbanakorn, Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat, Permanent Secretary of the same ministry, together with senior officials from CAL Forum’s cohort 1 and 2 participated in the ceremony at the Ratchapruek Club, North Park Project, Bangkok.

The Climate Action Leaders Forum project batch 3 or CAL Forum #3  is the project that Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Hosted by the Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) in collaboration with the Department of Climate Change and Environment and the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning, this event marks its third consecutive year. Designed as a forum, it gathers leaders from various sectors with expertise and interest in efforts to cut greenhouse gases and combat global warming. The forum provides a space for participants to meet, discuss, and share ideas and experiences through a series of conferences. Additionally, it includes study visits to the T-VER carbon credit project within the country, focusing on forestry and energy carbon credit initiatives in Rayong Province. This initiative aims to establish a new leadership platform for the collective sharing of perspectives, ideas, experiences, and efforts to address global warming from all angles, ultimately working towards sustainable development.
