Today (June 4, 2024) at 2:00 PM, Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE), assigned Mr. Thalerngsak Phetsuwan, Deputy Permanent Secretary of MNRE, to welcome Mr. Renaud Meyer, Ms. Irina Goryunova, and their delegation, representatives from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). They met to discuss the implementation of projects seeking support from the Global Environment Fund. Representatives from relevant agencies, including the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning, the Department of Climate Change and Environment, and the Biodiversity-based Economy Development Office (Public Organization), also participated in the discussions, held in meeting room 201 on the second floor of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

The discussion covered topics on cooperation regarding project implementation seeking support from international funds, such as the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the Global Biodiversity Framework Fund (GBFF), and the Green Climate Fund (GCF). Additionally, the meeting emphasized opportunities to develop future cooperation with MNRE agencies in areas such as mangrove and peat swamp resource management, increasing carbon sequestration, promoting the Blue Economy, and the carbon market. These efforts aim to advance Thailand towards a low-carbon society.
