MNRE Hosts National Forum on Ecosystem-Based Climate Adaptation with Thailand-Vietnam Collaboration

Today (July 31, 2024) at 09:00 AM, Mr. Kuson Chotirat, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE), chaired the opening of the National Dialogue Meeting. The seminar focused on demonstrating climate change adaptation using ecosystem-based approaches, using Thailand's river basin as an example. It included presentations on the results of the first year of the project and plans for years two through four, as well as discussions on and promotion of knowledge related to Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) between Thailand and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This is part of the Climate Change Adaptation through Ecosystem-based Approaches project within the context of cooperation among developing countries in the Mekong River Basin, Phase 1, held at the Asia Hotel in Bangkok and via remote conferencing. Representatives from the Department of Water Resources, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Vietnam, UNEP, IUCN, the project working group, government agencies, civil society, and relevant officials attended the meeting.
