MNRE Welcomes New UNIDO Representative and Discusses Climate Change Cooperation
Today (August 23, 2024) at 10:00 a.m., Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, assigned Dr. Chayanan Pakdeejit, MNRE’s Deputy Permanent Secretary, along with representatives from the Department of Climate Change and Environment, the Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization), and the Foreign Affairs Division of the MNRE, to welcome Mr. Fukuya Iino, United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) representative, and his team. They discussed cooperation on climate change issues, including greenhouse gas reduction and adaptation strategies in the industrial sector. They also reviewed progress on projects supported by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Thailand's steel, iron, aluminum, and cement industries.
