On September 3, 2024, at 9:00 AM, Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE), delegated Mr.Thalearngsak Petchsuwan, Deputy Permanent Secretary, to officially open the 8th IUCN Asia Regional Conservation Forum (RCF) 2024. The forum is themed "Innovative Approaches to Conservation in Asia: A Positive Future for Nature" at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel in Bangkok. Over 500 participants attended, including representatives from IUCN member countries in Asia, government agencies, the private sector, NGOs, business leaders, and landscape advocates.
The RCF is organized every four years. This year, from September 3 to 5, 2024, the forum is hosted by MNRE's Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation (DNP) in collaboration with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). The event serves as a special platform for discussions on biodiversity conservation, sustainable development, urgent issues, and crucial actions needed to create a positive natural future for the Asia-Pacific region and the world.
