Dr. Chalermchai “Pi Tor” Starts as New Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Prioritizes Problem-Solving and Legal Compliance

On September 10, 2024, at 7:50 AM, Dr. Chalermchai Sri-on, the newly appointed Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, officially began his first day at the ministry. Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, along with senior executives and heads of departments, state enterprises, and public organizations under the ministry, welcomed him warmly. The welcoming ceremony included paying respects to Phra Buddha Sayamphu, the ministry's patron Buddha image, and honoring the local spirit shrine before taking a group photo with the ministry's executives and staff in front of the ministry’s building.

Dr. Chalermchai expressed his gratitude to the ministry's executives and staff for the warm reception. Drawing from his previous experience as Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, he acknowledged his familiarity with land issues, particularly those related to the Special Agricultural Zone (SAZ). He emphasized that his work at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment would build upon this experience to address land boundary disputes and other related problems. Dr. Chalermchai underscored his commitment to ensuring that all actions would comply with the law while maintaining humanitarian values and ethics, clarifying that his goal is to resolve problems, not create new ones.
