MNRE Holds Committee Meeting to Review Projects for GBFF Funding

On September 25, 2024, at 1:30 PM, Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat, Permanent Secretary of MNRE, assigned Mr. Thalerngsak Phetsuwan, MNRE’s Deputy Permanent Secretary, to chair the third 2024 meeting of the Committee for the Review of Projects Seeking Support from the Global Environment Fund (GEF). The meeting, held at MNRE’s headquarters, was attended by committee members from various MNRE departments and representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Economic and Social Development Council, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry of Transport, and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. The meeting was held in Meeting Room 202, 2nd Floor, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

The committee acknowledged progress reports on projects in Thailand receiving GEF support. They also approved the proposal for the "Promoting Nature-Positive Partnerships for GBF Implementation in Thailand from Policy to Action" (ProNATURE) project. The project, led by the Biodiversity-Based Economy Development Office (Public Organization), will seek funding from the Global Biodiversity Framework Fund (GBFF).
