On November 19, 2024, in Baku, Azerbaijan, following his keynote address, Dr. Chalermchai Sri-on, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE) and head of the Thai delegation, visited the Thailand Pavilion. The pavilion showcases Thailand's efforts in combating climate change, along with a Technology and Innovation Zone. The event is held as part of the 29th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). Dr. Chalermchai was joined by Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE), along with other senior officials, and was warmly welcomed by Dr. Phirun Saiyasitpanich, Director General of Climate Change and Environment.

During the visit, Dr. Chalermchai attended a discussion titled "Future-Proofing Cities: Strategies for Adapting to the Climate Crisis." He also presented souvenirs to distinguished speakers from the United Nations Human Settlements Programme and UN Habitat, as well as representatives from the Mae Fah Luang Foundation and Thai Beverage, who shared insights on addressing global warming. A highlight of the visit was a photo opportunity with "Nong Moo Deng," a dwarf hippopotamus beloved by both Thai and international visitors. This year, Thailand's exhibit drew significant interest, attracting many attendees to the Thailand Pavilion, where over 1,300 visitors from various countries participated daily in exhibitions and activities.
