"Permanent Secretary Jatuporn" Presents the “233 G-GREEN” Awards to Develop Thai Entrepreneurs’ Models and Drive the Economy Toward a Low-Carbon Society

Today (March 26, 2025) at 9:30 AM, Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE), presided over the award ceremony for the national G-Green certification. The awards were presented to 233 establishments and organizations that met the environmental friendliness criteria for the year 2024 under the G-Green label. He also visited exhibitions promoting sustainable production, services, and consumption, including the Green Hotel Plus exhibition, the Green Office exhibition, as well as showcasing environmentally friendly products. The event was attended by MNRE executives at the Centara Life Hotel and Government Complex Convention Center, Chaeng Watthana, Bangkok. Achieving the country’s goals requires collaboration between the public sector, private sector, and citizens, all of whom are ready to adapt and transform Thailand to drive towards carbon neutrality by 2050 and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2065.

The Permanent Secretary expressed his congratulations to all 233 entities that received the G-Green environmental certification, which are divided into the following categories: 13 entities at the G-Plus level, 96 entities at the Excellent level, 86 entities at the Very Good level, and 32 entities at the Good level. In addition, six products, certified as G-Upcycle and ECO Plus, were also recognized for their environmental friendliness. These awards reflect the far-sighted vision and outstanding leadership of organizations that are bold enough to make changes, aware of global situations, and responsible towards society.

The Green Hotel Plus award follows the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) standards and is recognized internationally. It plays a significant role in promoting sustainable tourism, enhancing confidence, and creating business opportunities for Thailand. Furthermore, in collaboration with the Phuket Sustainable Tourism Foundation and network partners, the Green Hotel Plus Phuket Sandbox project has been launched. This initiative aims to certify over 600 hotels in Phuket with the Green Hotel Plus standard, preparing for Thailand to host the Global Sustainable Tourism Conference (GSTC) in 2026.
