MNRE Participates in the First National Committee Meeting to Address the Impact of the EUDR on Agricultural Products

On April 9, 2025, at 3:30 p.m., Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE), assigned Mr. Prasert Sirinapaporn, Deputy Permanent Secretary of MNRE, to attend the first 2025 meeting of the National Committee on Addressing the Impact of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) on agricultural products. The meeting was held in Meeting Room 301, Command Building 1, Government House, and was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Prasert Jantararuangtong. The objective of the meeting was to drive forward coordinated and efficient implementation to meet national goals and maximize the country's benefit.

 

During the meeting, attendees jointly reviewed a proposed national policy framework and action plan for complying with the EUDR, prepared by the National Bureau of Agricultural Commodity and Food Standards. Discussions also included proposals for expanding the composition of the National Committee and establishing relevant subcommittees. In addition, the meeting acknowledged the background and impact of the EUDR regulations on seven major Thai agricultural product groups: rubber, palm oil, beef, wood, coffee, cocoa, and soybeans.
