Bangkok, 5 November 2025 — Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE), announced Thailand’s preparations for participation in the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, to be held in Belém, Federative Republic of Brazil, from 10 to 21 November 2025. He stated that he has designated Ms. Phattranan Thongpraphan, Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister for Political Affairs, to serve as Acting Head of the Thai Delegation during 17–18 November 2025.

The host country has adopted the overarching concept of “Global Mutirão,” meaning “the collective strength of the global community in confronting climate change,” which emphasizes five priority agenda items:

 (1) the submission of the Second Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0);

 (2) the establishment of indicators for the Global Goal on Adaptation (GGA);

 (3) the advancement of the Baku to Belém Roadmap to USD 1.3 trillion by 2035 for the new climate finance goal;

 (4) the Fund for Loss and Damage (FRLD); and

 (5) the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement.

In addition, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, as Thailand’s national coordinating agency under the Convention, has collaborated with public- and private-sector partners to present an exhibition at the Thailand Pavilion. The Pavilion follows the 5C Concept: Climate Policy, Climate Action, Climate Finance, Climate Resilience, and Climate Literacy, along with a Technology and Innovation Zone featuring technologies and innovations related to greenhouse gas mitigation and carbon sequestration. The Pavilion also hosts more than 30 dialogue sessions, bringing together academics, government representatives, private-sector organizations, youth delegates, and international institutions to exchange knowledge, data, and experiences across a wide range of topics. These include climate finance, adaptation, greenhouse gas mitigation technologies and innovations, biodiversity conservation and the integration of local wisdom, building equitable and just societies, and showcasing the power of global youth engagement.
