Bangkok, 5 December 2025 — At 9:00 a.m., Mr. Niphon Jamnongsilasak, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE), represented the Ministry in respectfully attending the Royal Opening Ceremony of World Soil Day 2025, presided over by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, The Princess Royal, under the theme “Healthy soils for healthy cities — Healthy soils for balanced cities that sustain life,” and the presentation of the King Bhumibol World Soil Day Award 2025 to organizations with outstanding achievements in promoting sustainable soil management, at the Land Development Department, Chatuchak District, Bangkok.
World Soil Day 2025 is held from 5 to 9 December 2025 to commemorate the gracious contributions of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, whose exceptional wisdom in soil management has gained global recognition, and to honor His Majesty King Rama X and Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, The Princess Royal, who have continuously carried forward the royal initiatives on sustainable soil and water resource development.
The event features a wide range of activities, including commemorative exhibitions honoring the monarchy, academic forums and knowledge-sharing sessions on soil management, youth-oriented activities, and creative competitions related to soil conservation and sustainability.
