Deputy Prime Minister Suchart Attends the Royal Reception for Their Majesties at the Opening Ceremony of the 33rd SEA Games

Bangkok, 9 December 2025 — At 7:30 p.m., Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, together with members of the Cabinet led by Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, in his capacity as Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, respectfully attended the Royal Reception for His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana, Queen of Thailand, on the occasion of the Opening Ceremony of the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (The 33rd SEA Games Thailand 2025) at the Rajamangala National Stadium.

The opening ceremony emphasized unity across the region under the theme “WE ARE ONE,” presented through a series of performances that blended diverse cultural traditions with contemporary expressions, alongside a parade of more than 500 athletes representing 11 participating countries.

The 33rd SEA Games, hosted by Thailand, are scheduled to take place from 9 to 20 December 2025, featuring competitions in more than 50 sports and awarding a total of 574 gold medals, with events held across Bangkok and Chonburi provinces. The Games are intended not only to showcase sporting excellence but also to reflect Thailand’s role as a regional hub for cultural exchange, sports development, and regional cooperation.

The Southeast Asian Games are a biennial regional multi-sport event bringing together 11 countries in Southeast Asia, organized under the auspices of the Southeast Asian Games Federation (SEAGF) and overseen by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).
