10 February 2026, at 9:30 AM – Dr. Raweewan Bhuridej, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE), conducted an inspection visit and chaired a policy meeting to provide operational guidance to the Forest Industry Organization (FIO). On this occasion, Mr. Nipon Jumnongsirisak, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment; the Director-General of the Royal Forest Department; Ministry Inspectors; as well as Mr. Chanudom Phetsung, Acting Director of the Forest Industry Organization; members of the Board; distinguished experts; executives; and FIO officials, were present to welcome the delegation and report on operational performance, including problems and obstacles encountered in implementation, at Meeting Room 301, Central Office Building, Forest Industry Organization.
On this occasion, Dr. Raweewan Bhuridej delivered policy directions and operational guidelines aimed at elevating the Forest Industry Organization to international standards. She emphasized that all dimensions of operations must prioritize the utmost benefit of FIO and the nation. She further stated that FIO is an organization with high potential and is capable of comprehensive development in economic, environmental, and social dimensions.
The Permanent Secretary underscored the need to enhance forestry operational standards to support participation in the country’s Premium Thailand Voluntary Emission Reduction Program (Premium T-VER) in the forestry sector. She also encouraged the pursuit of business partners and marketing collaboration to increase organizational value and competitiveness.
Regarding goods and products, emphasis was placed on the development of products with traceable origins and certification in compliance with the European Union regulation on deforestation-free products (European Union Deforestation Regulation: EUDR). She tasked FIO with developing and upgrading the UER platform in collaboration with the EdTech sector, enabling entrepreneurs to utilize the platform effectively and generate revenue to support operations.
In addition, guidance was provided on the efficient and optimal utilization of land under FIO’s responsibility, including joint ventures, development into hotels, accommodations, or homestays, as well as commercial leasing. She stressed that all operations must be carried out with prudence, transparency, and due consideration of the interests of FIO and the nation, while allowing flexibility for organizational restructuring or innovative development models.
With respect to product development, the Permanent Secretary emphasized the application of new technologies and innovations to enhance product value, particularly the utilization of bark and sawdust. She assigned the research team to study the potential for further development of such products to meet global market demand.
In conclusion, Dr. Raweewan expressed her encouragement to FIO executives and officials. She reiterated the importance of adhering to principles of good governance, applying digital technology in operations, implementing comprehensive E-Payment systems, and enhancing forest area monitoring through satellite technology. Consideration may be given to collaboration with the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA) to build confidence among both the public and private sectors.
