Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn arrived privately at the Santi Maitri Building (Outer Wing), Government House, at 5:30 p.m. to preside over the meeting of the Organizing Committee for the Royal Cremation Ceremony. The purpose of the visit was to provide royal guidance and final decisions to ensure the proceedings are conducted with the utmost decorum, in strict accordance with royal traditions, and with the highest marks of honor.
In this regard, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE), along with Dr. Raweewan Bhuridej, Permanent Secretary of MNRE, attended the meeting. The assembly acknowledged the official orders appointing the Organizing Committee and various sub-committees, as well as the establishment of the Royal Cremation Ceremony Coordination Center. This center is designed to integrate the operations of all relevant agencies into a unified direction.
The meeting reported on the progress made by each sub-committee, covering preparations across all dimensions. These include the construction of the Royal Crematorium (Phra Merumas) and associated structures, the organization of the Royal Processions of Honor, ceremonial arrangements, public relations, security, and traffic management. Additionally, progress was noted on the compilation of the national commemorative archives and the production of commemorative items. The meeting also reviewed the budgetary framework and screening mechanisms to ensure appropriate, transparent allocation in alignment with the specific missions of each agency.
Furthermore, the meeting discussed guidelines for organizing an exhibition following the Royal Cremation Ceremony. This exhibition will serve to disseminate the royal biography, royal duties, the construction process of the Royal Crematorium, and related artistic and landscape architectural works. Plans for the production of commemorative pins and promotional media were also deliberated, allowing the public to join in commemorating the royal grace in an appropriately honorable manner.
The committee has prepared to seek further royal guidance and decisions on key issues to ensure every step of the process strictly adheres to royal protocol and honors the highest royal rank. All involved agencies will integrate their cooperation closely to ensure that this significant national ceremony is completed with absolute perfection and the utmost honor.
