His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana, Queen of Thailand, graciously presided over the Royal Ploughing Ceremony for the year 2026. On this occasion, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE), attended the royal ceremony at the Sanam Luang ceremonial ground, Bangkok.

The Royal Ploughing Ceremony is an important royal ceremony inherited since ancient times to bring auspiciousness to Thai farmers and to boost the morale and encouragement of farmers across the country before the start of the annual cultivation season. This reflects the significance of the agricultural sector as a vital foundation for the economic and social security of the nation.

Furthermore, participation in the said royal ceremony reflects the commitment of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to adopting and applying royal initiatives in the integrated management of natural resources and the environment, while supporting the agricultural sector to adapt to climate and environmental changes in order to strengthen the Thai agricultural sector, which serves as a major foundation for the sustainable development of the country.
