Today (26 November 2019), H.E. Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, gave welcoming remarks at the 10 years event of the journey of Thai-German cooperation together for a better climate. The Minister visited the exhibition "The Journey of Thai-German Cooperation," which demonstrates the collaboration to work together to combat global warming and joined the seminar on the topic of "Journey of Changes" at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Bangkok.
H.E. Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa gave a speech to gratitude the Federal Republic of Germany for its continuous support, which Thailand is ready to push for a solution of climate change problems by setting the target to reduce Green House Gas for 20 % from regular operation in the year 2030 under the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC). It is hoping that the Thai-German cooperation will support the works on combatting climate change and continue to expand the framework of cooperation.
In this regard of the 10th anniversary of the cooperation between Thailand and the Federal Republic of Germany, it is a good opportunity to present work experiences and lessons learned from previous projects and ongoing projects together with disseminating the achievements of climate change and environmental works in Thailand. To achieve the goal and overcome several obstacles in the future together, Thailand received a support from the International Climate Initiative (IKI) under the Ministry of Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety (BMU)
