Today (6 December 2019) at 16.00, at the meeting room on 20th floor of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment building, H.E. Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment is a chairman of a subcommittee meeting on driving the proposing Kaeng Krachan forest area to be a World Heritage Site, no.2 1/2019. Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, is a vice-chair. Dr. Raweewan Bhuridej, Secretary-General of Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning, and Mr. Thanya Netithammakun, Director General of Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, are subcommittee and co-secretary as well as senior expert subcommittee and subcommittee from related organizations attend this meeting.
Regarding the meeting, a resolution was passed to acknowledge the order appointing the subcommittee to drive the proposing Kaeng Krachan forest area to be a World Heritage Site as well as assigned the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation to prepare documents following the World Heritage Committee resolution. The meeting also assigned the Ministry of Foreign Coordinating Republic of the Union of Myanmar to acquire confirmation of the boundary coordinates of the Kaeng Krachan Forest World Heritage Area before proposing to the World Heritage Center.
